Who We Are // Quiénes Somos

Nanai: A compassionate touch to soothe the soul.

The idea of "nanai" comes from the Quechua language and culture, a culture central to Andean region of South America, where Nanai's owner Vladimir is from.

And isn't that exactly what the best cup of coffee can do?

Vladimir or "Vladi," originally from Peru, moved to the United States in 2021 after spending several years in Bolivia, where he had the opportunity to live and work alongside specialty coffee producers. Quickly, he caught their vision for Bolivian coffee to grow in the transnational specialty market, all while making a meaningful difference in the lives of producers. Vladi walked with a core team to create a cooperative by and for producers that began importing beans to the U.S. in 2023, while also providing critical economic, social, and ecological supports in farming communities.

Nanai is the next step of the journey: quality beans, imported directly and ethically from farmers, to serve up for you with a smile and some Peruvian flare.

Vladi has stories to tell and good drinks to make. Share your vision for an event with him, and he'll make it happen efficiently without losing the art of keeping humanity in business. We can't wait to get to know you!
